Abstract

Abstract:

Background: 'Summary of findings' tables are an important part of Cochrane Reviews. GRADEpro software is freely available online, and it can be used with PCs or Macs to create these tables. Users can import data and analyses from Review Manager 5 (RevMan 5) files, receive guidance on creating the tables, and export them to RevMan 5. GRADEpro also facilitates authors' assessment of the confidence in effects or quality of evidence (aiding in the assessment of risk of bias, inconsistency, indirectness, imprecision and publication bias across studies) and the presentation of results.

Objectives: to teach participants to use the online software - GRADEpro (www.gradepro.org) - and work with RevMan 5 to prepare 'Summary of findings' tables for Cochrane Reviews.

Description: this is a guided hands-on workshop using GRADEpro. Participants will need to bring their own (charged) laptop or share with another if they would like to practice on GRADEpro. Otherwise, participants can watch the demonstration. We will guide participants in a hands-on and step-by-step workshop, to create a 'Summary of findings' table using GRADEpro. Participants can use a model Cochrane Review or their own review (provided that meta-analyses are already done). In addition to the presenter, other tutors will be available throughout the workshop to help and support participants, or to provide more advanced information.
