Background: the Cochrane Register of Studies (CRS) is a critical component of Cochrane information systems and is vital for information specialists to reduce duplication of effort and to efficiently curate and manage studies for Cochrane Reviews. Cochrane Information Specialist Support and Metaxis, the developers of the Cochrane Register of Studies, will present this three-hour training workshop. The workshop is closed to Cochrane Information Specialists.
Objectives: 1) to gain familiarity working with studies in the CRS; 2) to work through deduplication screens for studies and references; 3) to navigate new reports options within the CRS; 4) to understand the purpose and function of classifiers and related features; 5) to demonstrate use of the CRS classifier interface; and 6) to contribute to future CRS planning.
Description: this practical training workshop will explore new developments in the CRS including new sections on working with studies, deduplication of studies and references, managing and customizing management reports, and using the new machine learning classifiers. There is also a section on identifying and prioritizing potential future directions for CRS and its integration with Review Manager and Covidence. This interactive workshop will include practical demonstrations of CRS and its suite of tools, hands-on practice sessions, discussion of key concepts and opportunities to provide input and guidance on future developments.
