WELCOME ABOARD COCHRANE! ¡Bienvenido a Cochrane! [in Spanish]

Background: Cochrane's progress towards the goals of the Cochrane Strategy to 2020 offers new opportunities to people willing to be part of the organization. However, potential contributors are often unaware or unable to make the best use of opportunities and/or resources. This is relevant for newcomers and non-native English speakers, particularly in settings with an inadequate support system.

Objectives: to enable participants to: 1) understand the framework of the Cochrane Strategy to 2020; 2) learn about the spectrum of Cochrane-supported initiatives for participation, including Task Exchange and Cochrane Crowd; 3) create a Cochrane account; and 4) understand the steps needed to become a Cochrane member and take advantage of its benefits.

Description: this workshop is targeted towards people interested in participating in Cochrane as contributors or consumers. The facilitators will make short interactive presentations of 10 minutes each to familiarize attendees with new Cochrane initiatives for participation. In addition, if this proposal is accepted, the summary of this workshop will be shared with relevant Cochrane entities at the Central Executive Team to get their feedback and input. Participants will be encouraged to share personal experiences related to their contributions at Cochrane and how they solved any difficulties or challenges encountered. A list of practical issues will be compiled and circulated among participants.
